Finance (Raleigh, NC)

Senior Accountant

Seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee the day-to-day accounting function and perform a wide variety of tasks as part of a dynamic, early-stage team.

Responsibilities include process development, execution and management of general accounting, financial reporting, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll administration. The Senior Accountant will initially have the help of one staff to perform certain functions, mainly accounts payable and payroll. The position is expected to be very hands-on and will offer significant growth opportunities as the company develops.

Duties:

  • General ledger maintenance in accordance with GAAP
  • Monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing of the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements
  • Report monthly financial results to management and the board of directors
  • Cash management
  • Credit & Collections management
  • Manage payroll processing and tax preparation
  • Coordination of year end audit
  • Preparation of multi-state sales and property tax returns
  • Review and coordination of multi-state income tax returns
  • Preparation and coordination of business insurance renewals
  • Implementation and enhancement of financial accounting systems, processes, tools and controls
  • Administration of employee Benefit and 401(k) plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required, CPA a big plus
  • Quickbooks and mid-level accounting system experience
  • 5+ years experience (Combination of Accounting Manager and Public Accounting experience is a plus)
  • Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Experience with high-tech startup and/or international company a plus
  • Ideal candidate will be capable, versatile, flexible, and willing to take on tasks at all levels!
