Talari T3010 Appliance
The Talari T3010 Appliance is designed to bring reliability and bandwidth to large data centers and corporate headquarters, affordably delivering up to 1 Gbps full-duplex. The Talari T3010 Appliance communicates with other Talari SD-WAN appliances, such as the T510, T860 and T5000 models.
The 2U rack-mountable Talari T3010 Appliance runs the same software as the other models, while taking performance and scalability to the next level, supporting hundreds of megabits of WAN bandwidth across the union of private WAN links and public Internet connections, with support for larger numbers of branch connections and application flows.
Talari SD-WAN Controller – Network Control Node (NCN)
Talari T3010 Appliance can be designated as the Talari SD-WAN master controller, and the central point of administration, for all Talari SD-WAN appliances. The primary purpose of the SD-WAN Controller, also called the network controller node (NCN), is to establish and administer conduits to multiple Talari SD-WAN appliances, synchronizing time between appliances, arbitrating end-to-end bandwidth reservations, and establishing dynamic connections between the SD-WAN appliances.
Enterprises are looking to centralize data center services with predictable application performance over a cost-effective WAN infrastructure with high reliability. The Talari T3010 eliminates a single point of failure in the network, by providing complete redundancy between two Talari appliances. The pre-designated “standby” appliance monitors the state of the “active” appliance and, in the event of a failure, takes over all Talari Appliance services. Using a specialized protocol, the Talari high-availability system can detect a failure in the active appliance and switch over all functions to the standby appliance in a fraction of a second, in a way that is transparent to most active applications.
With Talari’s geographic redundancy feature, any Talari Appliance can function as a secondary NCN. In the event of a primary data center failure, the backup data center should be operational, and the secondary Talari Appliance would act as the NCN for the entire Talari SD-WAN.
T3010 Appliances include two pairs of fail-to-wire ports, and two pairs of fail-to-glass ports, automatically enabling a passive pass-through mode, even in the case of unforeseen interruptions in a Talari appliance.

Integrated WAN Optimization
Talari SD-WAN solutions now provide native support for core WAN-optimization features, such as data compression and deduplication of data, in addition to congestion controls. Talari WAN Optimization (WAN-Op) is a composite feature that increases efficiency across the WAN for bulk file-transfer traffic, especially for data requested by more than one user at the same location. By combining WAN-Op with Talari SD-WAN software, organizations can simplify the branch office and create cost efficiencies to network administrators’ IT procurement scope.
